Reflecting on God’s Grace in the City Centre Easter Weekend
Following the solemn reflection of Good Friday, the COPE Ministry team gathered in Wakefield City Centre for a Holy Saturday outreach that can only be described as a move of the Holy Spirit.
We were blessed to have 11 dedicated volunteers join us, each eager to share the love of Jesus with our local community. While the morning began quietly with conversations among fellow believers, the atmosphere quickly shifted as the streets grew busier.
Spreading the Word: By the Numbers
The hunger for truth in Wakefield was evident. Within just one hour of our outreach, the team was able to provide:
- 18 New Testament Bibles to those seeking the Word.
- 15 “Why Jesus?” Alpha booklets to help answer life’s biggest questions.
Prayer was constant throughout the day. While we lost count of the number of people we stood with in prayer, the impact of those moments was written on every face. We shared stories that brought laughter and others that brought tears, reminding us all of the diverse needs within our city.

Lives Transformed: The Power of the Sinner’s Prayer
The highlight of the day was witnessing the ultimate transformation. Four individuals made the life-changing decision to give their lives to Jesus Christ, praying the Sinner’s Prayer right there in the heart of the city.
”Anyone Can Be Saved – No One Is Too Far Gone.”
This message was at the forefront of everything we did. Whether it was Julia tirelessly handing out hot drinks, food, Bible verse wristbands, and trinkets, or our volunteers engaging in deep conversation, the goal remained the same: to show that God is good and His grace is available to all.
A Heartfelt Thank You

We want to extend a massive thank you to our 11 volunteers who gave up their Saturday to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Your dedication is what makes this ministry possible.
As we move forward from this successful day, we carry the joy of these new believers in our hearts.
Happy Easter from all of us at COPE Ministry!
