Hope on the Streets of Pontefract
Our recent stop on the WF Postcode Tour served as a powerful reminder that transformation often begins exactly where we least expect it. In the heart of Pontefract, we witnessed firsthand how a difficult start can turn into a divine appointment.
A Morning of Service
The day truly began before we had even finished setting up our stall. While passing through town, we met a gentleman begging on the street. It was a privilege to sit with him and provide a hot meal. His deep appreciation was a humbling start to our mission, refocusing our hearts on the core of why we do this: to serve.
Once we settled in, the community response was incredible. By the end of the outreach, we had shared:
- 11 New Testaments

- 10 “Why Jesus?” booklets
Breakthrough: The Story of Richard
The absolute highlight of the day was an encounter that reminded us never to give up on anyone.
When we first approached a man named Richard, he was clearly struggling. He met our offer of a gift with anger and a firm “no.” Even after a second attempt from our team member, Matthew Hamblett, the reaction remained the same. However, Matt felt a clear “nudge” from the Holy Spirit to stay present and keep the conversation alive.
What a difference 25 minutes makes. By the end of their talk, the anger had melted away. Richard was smiling, shaking Matt’s hand, and walking away with a New Testament of his own!
”It just goes to show that no one is too far gone and God’s timing is perfect. God is amazing!”

Fuel for the Journey
Outreach is a team effort, and sometimes that support comes in the form of a friendly face and a sugar boost! A huge thank you to Andy Clayton for dropping by to keep our spirits (and energy levels) high with drinks and a vanilla slice each. 🍰☕
We are so grateful for what is happening across the WF postcodes. Every conversation and every booklet is a seed planted for the Kingdom.
Blessings,
