About COPE Ministry: A Mission Born in the Trenches
“Turning the Trenches of Addiction into Fields of Harvest.”
We are a boots-on-the-ground ministry dedicated to proving that through Jesus Christ, nobody is too far gone and no life is beyond repair.
Our Story
COPE Ministry (Christian Outreach Programme Evangelism) wasn’t founded in a boardroom or a classroom. It was born out of a 33-year battle with addiction, a life of violence on the streets, and a radical encounter with the grace of Jesus Christ.
Based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, we are a grassroots ministry dedicated to reaching the people the world often forgets. We believe that no street is too dark, no past is too heavy, and—most importantly—nobody is too far gone.
Meet the Founders

Fin Dalton | Founder & Executive Director
Fin is a “Voice from the Trenches” and the visionary leader behind COPE Ministry. After three decades lost to crack cocaine and a life of crime, Fin’s life was radically rebuilt by faith. Today, he serves as the Executive Director, overseeing the ministry’s strategic mission to reach the people the world often forgets.
While he manages the growth and operations of COPE, Fin remains a boots-on-the-ground Evangelist at heart. He uses his lived experience to provide a roadmap from despair to victory through direct street outreach, motivational speaking, and one-on-one mentorship for those still trapped in the cycle of addiction.
Adele Dalton | Director of Family Support
Adele Dalton is a co-founder and the Director of Family Support at COPE Ministry. Having walked the difficult path as the wife of a former addict, Adele possesses a deep, firsthand understanding of the “hidden” side of addiction—the silent struggle of holding a family together while a loved one is lost to the streets.
As Director, Adele oversees the Family Support Forum, a non-judgmental sanctuary she designed for healing and restoration. Her mission is to ensure that no partner or parent has to walk this road alone. Through her leadership, she provides a bridge of empathy and practical guidance, helping families navigate their own journey from crisis to peace.
What We Stand For
We operate under the NO F.E.A.R. Framework, ensuring that every person we meet receives both spiritual hope and practical kindness:
- F — Faith-Driven: We rely on the Holy Spirit, not just statistics.
- E — Evangelism: We carry the Good News into the darkest places.
- A — Action on the Streets: We are the hands and feet of Jesus, providing tangible support.
- R — Redemption through Jesus: We believe every life can be pieced back together.
Why We Are Different
At COPE Ministry, we don’t look down on people—we look them in the eye. We provide a bridge from the “shadows” of the street back into the light of the community and the local church. Whether through our Christian Cargo Bike outreach in Wakefield City Centre or our digital support forums, we are committed to being a constant, reliable presence for the vulnerable.
”I’ve yet to meet someone who wakes up one day and says: ‘I want to be lost, homeless, or trapped in addiction.’ We are here to help them find their way home.”— Fin Dalton
Our Commitment to You
We are a transparent, faith-driven organization. While we are currently a small, non-profit community group, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of financial and spiritual integrity. Every donation and every prayer goes directly toward our mission of transforming lives in West Yorkshire.
