Alpha ❓: Explore Life, Faith, and Meaning

Alpha with COPE Ministry

Is there more to life than this?

We all have questions. About why we’re here, where we’re going, and whether faith has any relevance in the 21st century.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about these “big questions” for a while, or perhaps we crossed paths while I was out on the streets of Yorkshire sharing the Gospel. If you’re looking for a safe, low-pressure space to explore what Christianity is all about, Alpha is the perfect place to start.

What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith. It is usually held in cafes, homes, community centers or a church where people gather to eat, watch a short film, and share their thoughts.

The three key ingredients to every Alpha:

  • Food: Most sessions start with food because it’s a great way to settle in and get to know people.
  • Talk: We watch a short film (about 25 minutes) that explores a big issue of faith, such as “Who is Jesus?” or “How can I have faith?”
  • Discussion: This is the best part. You can share your thoughts, ask anything, or just listen. There is no question too simple or wrong..

The Alpha Rule: No pressure. No follow-up. No charge. No judgment.
