Your Trust & Our Accountability

COPE Ministry is a non-profit organization operating for charitable purposes. While we are a ‘charity in law,’ we do not hold a Registered Charity Number as we operate below the mandatory £5,000 registration threshold.

“If you prefer to help in another way you can wear the message?”

[Visit our Shop] to support the mission through COPE merchandise.”

At COPE Ministry, we are committed to the highest standards of integrity. As a growing outreach serving Wakefield, we want you to know exactly how your support is handled:

  • Community Focused: As we are currently in our foundational stage, COPE Ministry operates as a small, non-profit community group. We are not yet a Registered Charity, as our annual income currently sits below the £5,000 threshold required for registration.
  • 100% Impact: Because we receive no external government funding, your donations are the lifeblood of our mission. Your donations directly fund our ‘Action on the Streets’ and the essential costs required to keep the ministry running.
  • Financial Integrity: All funds are managed through a dedicated account held specifically for COPE Ministry activities. They are also separate from personal finances. Strict record-keeping ensures every gift is used for its intended purpose.

We are “Faith-Driven” in our mission and transparent in our methods. Thank you for partnering with us to bring hope to West Yorkshire.

Enhanced Transparency & Accountability

How We Track Your Impact

At COPE Ministry, transparency isn’t just a policy; it’s a practice. To ensure every penny is used for its intended purpose, we maintain a live Internal Accountability Ledger.

  • Real-Time Tracking: We use digital record-keeping to log every donation and expense as it happens.
  • Trustee Oversight: This detailed ledger—showing every transaction from website security costs to outreach supplies—is reviewed regularly by our leadership team.
  • Privacy First: To protect the identity and safety of our donors and those we serve, our detailed accounts remain private and password-protected. However, a summary of our annual impact and financial health is available upon request for our regular supporters.

Trustees and authorized personnel can access the Live Accountability Ledger Here.

Overview

At COPE Ministry, we believe that transparency is the foundation of community trust. As a faith-driven outreach dedicated to serving the broken and forgotten in the Wakefield district, we want to provide our supporters with a clear understanding of our current legal and financial standing.

1. Legal Status & The £5,000 ThresholdIn England and Wales, according to the Charity Commission, organizations with a charitable purpose are not required (and are generally not permitted) to register if their annual income is below £5,000.

Currently, COPE Ministry operates as a small, non-profit community group. We are a “charity in law” because our work exists solely for the benefit of the public, but we do not yet have a Registered Charity Number because we are currently within this foundational financial bracket

2. Financial Accountability & Stewardship We hold ourselves to the same high standards as registered organizations to ensure your donations are handled with integrity:

  • Separation of Funds: All donations are held in a dedicated account used exclusively for COPE Ministry activities. These funds are strictly separated from personal finances.
  • 100% Mission Focus: As we receive no government funding or external grants, your donations are the lifeblood of our work. Every penny goes directly toward our mission—supporting ‘Action on the Streets’ and the essential operational costs that make our outreach possible.
  • Detailed Record Keeping: We maintain internal logs of all income and expenditures. This ensures that every gift is used for its intended purpose and can be accounted for.

3. Our Commitment to the Future As we grow and our impact in West Yorkshire expands, COPE Ministry is committed to formal registration with the Charity Commission once our annual income exceeds the £5,000 mandatory threshold. We view this current stage as a grassroots period that allows us to focus on immediate, local action.

4. Contact & Openness We are “Faith-Driven” in our mission and transparent in our methods. We welcome any questions from our donors or the community regarding our operations.
